The cycle we called life

Pinoy community in Singapore is growing, mainly because almost everyday there is a lots of job seekers coming here in Singapore looking for a greener pasture. You can see pinoy in almost every places here in Singapore.  You might even think that you are just only somewhere in one of the city of the Philippines, dahil sa dami na nga ng mga kababayan natin. Halo-halong kalamay na ang makikitang pinoy professionals dito sa Singapore kadalasan mga Archi, (Architects, Draftsman) Engineers, mga IT professionals, may mga F&B rin (Food &Beverage) may mga sa Retail din, meron ding mga Nurses at may mga sa Call centers na rin at meron ding mangilan-ngilang mga teachers na naghahanap ng trabaho.

Ang tanong? bakit kaya maraming mga Pinoy ang nae-enganyong pumunta dito sa Singapore at maghanap ng trabaho?.  Try kong isa-isahin at isipin.

1. Triple ang sahod o higit pa sa parehong trabahong ginagawa mo sa Pinas. Sabagay sino ba naman ng ayaw ang malaki ang sahod?. wala diba?
2. Walang makitang trabaho sa Pinas na may disenteng sahod na kayang suportahan ang mga luho at pamumuhay.
3. Mura lang kasi ang ticket sa eroplano kasi maraming budget airlines. Oo mura nga ang ticket sa halagang 6k pesos pataas round trip na yun.
4. Ini-inggit ng mga kaibigan? sinabihang maraming trabaho ditong naghihintay.

Yan ang ilan sa mga naisip ko hehehe.

Pero alam nyo ba na hindi lahat ng mga job hunters dito ay sinuwerteng makahanap ng trabaho?. Marami-rami ring job hunters na umuwi ng luhaan, gumastos ng malaki, inubos ang savings ng ilang taon, nagbenta ng kalabaw, nangutang sa magulang at mga kamag-anak, at nangutang ng 5-6 sa bumbay para lang makipagsapalaran dito sa Singapore pero in the end, umuwi pa ring luhaan at bigo. Ilan sa mga nakilala ko dito na umabot ng pinakamatagal na naghanap ng trabaho eh 7 months, meron ding 5 months, at meron ding 3 months ang inabot sa job hunting. Pero syempre meron ding mga ma-swerteng nilalang na nakakita ng trabaho within just a month of their stay here. Pero kadalasan ito yung mga tipong highly skilled at well experienced sa mga chosen field nila.

Looking for a job abroad while on tour, specially here in Singapore is not as easy as it seems. Most of those who are brave enough who went here experienced depression, due to the facts that they weren’t able to find the jobthat they we’re looking for, and their budget is depleting. Some able to coped up with their depressions others are not. Some job hunters has a friend or relative who can  rely on whenever they need.

So paano na kung wala kang kaibigan man lang na matatakbuhan in time of your needs? eh di wala na? tigok na?.

What a job hunters should know/do?

A job hunters should at least asses themselves if they have the right skills and years of experienced a company might look for. Ones should be emotional and financially ready before embarking to the journey of job hunting. And more importantly a job hunters should do their own research first, never rely on other people’s luck.

Remember ang swerte ng iba ay maaring hindi mo swerte.
